Choosing the right stone is extremely important for the finished ‘look’. I was recently asked to carve the number 5 for a house in Cheltenham. The garden leading to the front door of the property was very plain – granite chipped with very ‘modern’ minimal Japanese style planting.
Discussing the requirement with the customer, it was clear that the Cheltenham ‘style’ of white stone (Portland or Bath stone) would not really be appropriate, neither would a fussy script for the number. I proposed that a mid grey condensed quartz composite would be more fitting and a plain ‘modern no fuss’ figure 5.
If you would like to chat about what stone would best suit your requirements, please contact me and I will be happy to help.
